Weekend in Motorsport (8/9 October 2011)

Shop!

This weekend could well be the busiest weekend of televised motorsport of the year, so stock up on beers and snacks, clear a space on the sofa and fire up the Sky box.... (All Times in British Summer Time (GMT+1))

First up on Saturday morning is Qualifying for the Formula One from Japan (BBC1, 05h00-07h30)

Then it's up all night for the highlight of the Australian motoring year, the Bathurst 1000

Featuring some familiar names to northern hemisphere fans such as Wimbledon's David Brabham and Denmark's Allan Simonsen.

Qualifying Highlights, Preview and Live Race Coverage on MotorsTV (Sky413) from 20h50 through to 07h30.

The last British winner was TheMSC's hero Winston Percy in 1990.

Sunday, of course, could (should?) be the conclusion of the F1 driver's championship if Seb Vettel keeps it shiny side up at the Japanese Grand Prix. (BBC1 06h00-09h10)

Those still awake can digest their luncheon whilst following MotorsTV (or living streaming on the web) again for more live racing from the Blancpain Endurance Series from Silverstone. Featuring GT3 class cars including the McLaren MP4-12C the race is sharing the bill with British GT and Formula 3 (both races also live on MotorsTV).

(F3 Race 1 - 11h20-12h00 Race 2 - 16h00-16h55, BlancPain - 12h00-15h35)

If I Won the Lotto This Week, I Would Buy...
